{"id":30,"date":"2007-03-20T12:50:28","date_gmt":"2007-03-20T18:50:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/home.galador.org\/blog\/?p=30"},"modified":"2007-03-20T12:50:28","modified_gmt":"2007-03-20T18:50:28","slug":"mozilla-desktop-environment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.galador.org\/blog\/mozilla-desktop-environment\/","title":{"rendered":"Mozilla Desktop Environment?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>There&#8217;s talk on the <a href=\"http:\/\/groups.google.com\/group\/mozilla.dev.planning\/browse_thread\/thread\/296edcea6c1fbe63\/93aab2685aefdde7#93aab2685aefdde7\">mozilla.dev.planning<\/a> that the Mozilla Corporation could be considering creating a new Mozilla-based Desktop Environment (like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gnome.org\/\"><span class=\"caps\">GNOME<\/span><\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/kde.org\/\"><span class=\"caps\">KDE<\/span><\/a>) soon.  <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I&#8217;m only proposing that we make a desktop environment, the same thing that <span class=\"caps\">KDE<\/span> and Gnome, are. The only reason I mentioned a &#8220;Mozilla OS&#8221; is because we&#8217;d probably also want to release distributions for one of more specific kernels as a whole OS, including with it Firefox, Thunderbird, and any other applications built with the Mozilla platform available then.
